Today we finished a chapter in our short lives as adventurers -- we succeeded in taking the Minotaur King. He and his forces put up a significant battle, but with more than 40 armed men to support us, we were able to overcome him. Vaugner's plan worked, for the most part, as we hoped it would, though we still had luck on our side. We reached the King in daylight, which was of great advantage to us. And, while the King ordered a retreat, Dimension Door is far faster than any foot solider. Combined with Errol's Haste, we were victorious.
The 2500 gold reward pales in significance to the Gem of Power that the King did indeed wear. Now we shall see how we are treated by Tara and the rest of the Cressa Belar. Will they reward us as well as they would those with Gems to sell? We shall see.
Vaugner believes that now is the time to bring the battle to the
assassins who have dared to take the contract on our heads. I agree,
but I am at a loss as to how to find them. Wandering about Yogar
searching for them seems very dangerous, and yet I'm not sure what
else could lead to enough clues to find this group. Still, I believe
it is well worth searching. Perhaps we should travel to the land south
of Yogar. They must have more contact with forces there, as their
border is far longer. Perhaps we can hire spies to find out more about
Yogar itself. Perhaps we can find some way of allowing me to magically
create a painting of the wizard I saw when we were scryed. A picture
of the man might allow others to find him much more easily and give is
the lead we need. In any case, we've much work to do, and Yogar
appears to be where all roads lead.
