My memory of the last few days has been cloudy, like I couldn't quite see what was going on, and this awful static was in my ears all the time. I wish I could blame our awful tactics in battle on that, but I think not. It has finally caught up with us, and boy did we pay! Our reward for not finishing our scouting out of the camp before the urgent Fireballing commenced was a pair of corpses from our fighters. There was some mumbling about Blink running out into the fray and gettting held, and some other mumbling about a mighty whack splitting Kestral's skull, but mostly I think our lack of followthrough exposed us. It is not the first time, and probably won't be the last, but hopefully we will learn that not everyone is to be marched out and whacked straight up all the time. A little stealth can go a long way, and a judicious fireball into the tent with the spellcasters would have tilted this battle in our favor even with the big bad dude, who thankfully never engaged us. As it was, we still raked in a ton of loot, and we have only ourselves to blame that we have 10,000gp less than we would have. Leaving Pavalar definitely has increased the wealth we can find, and now we have options about what to do with it. I can already hear the bickering and arguing about who killed who. Mostly, I just want money to bribe Malif into enchanting my bow.

I have gotten nowhere in my mission to enter the dream alone, and I don't seem to be any closer. At this rate, I will be ready for tenth level by the time we ever get a chance to steal a topaz (fresh, that is). We need to focus and move on (sigh). What are the chances of that?
