So clearly I am at a crossroads. Shadow (and Nicolai) were plainly displeased with our (my) performance in getting the information they wanted. The real problem other than our inability to figure out how the world works is that their missions require too much time to fit them into our main party goals. There is just no way we have weeks and weeks to track down mercenaries when we don't even have a few spare days to let Malif create some items. This obvious conflict will force me to make a choice, and the choice is clear: leave the party. As much as I want to continue gaining levels at this rapid rate, there is no way I can see leaving Nicolai's clan without risking death and/or exile from the group that is my life's goal. I cannot see how refusing to take missions from Shadow can result in my being able to continue later, and worst case could result in my termination. A very disturbing set of events, but thats the way the world is sometimes.
