Welcome to The Chosen's journals. Each character is invited to keep a
journal and write down the thoughts of their characters as they wander
through Nyternia. In addition, the DM has a journal which highlights
each session. The players are:

Not sure why we.re doing this, but I guess siding with humans against minotaurs makes sense. Why is it our business? I think it.s an excuse to whomp on someone (or be whomped, as the recent trend seems to be). Being the valiant fools we (well, not me, the rest of the party) are, we decided to stand right in front, in the middle (hit me! Hit me!). Turns out the minotaurs are not stupid. Not at all. They sent the bulk of their group against us, while another smaller group fired the town, especially the granary (we later found out that that was their primary goal . to deprive the inhabitants of food as a more politically correct way of encouraging them to leave, rather than just killing them). We were doing pretty well against the main group, and they started to withdraw. Kestrel, looking for easy kills, waded in, and I followed to back him up. We nailed a couple, and suddenly their entire group goes into archery mode, with us as the butts. I deflected the first arrow (wheeee... it works) but then the next five hit me and that wasn.t so much fun. Turns out that when they.re actually trying to kill you, minotaurs are dangerous! Kestrel came this close to dying, and me with him, before we withdrew.
Post-action analysis, with some ex post facto (sigh) Dumbass
Knowledge, tells us that the minotaur king has the power to sense
thoughts (heck, that would make even me a tactical genius!), and that
maybe he got this power through a Gem of Power. Ah well, now we have
a real reason to whack minotaurs. But do we have the might?
