Today we had a party.

It was pretty fun, an end of school kind of thing. It made me realize a couple of things. First, I had fun in school. My classmates are good people, I definitely will look back on this time with nostalgia.

Second, I don't have that much in common with them any more. We've only been active outside of school for a couple of weeks, but I feel like a totally different person. We have done a lot of, well, growing up. I feel like we're actually involved in the world in a way that I hadn't even conceived of when I was still a student -- and in a way that most of my fellow students still can't imagine.

There is one who stands out a bit, though, and that's Jay. This was her party, technically. She's different I guess because she's an heir to a governorship, and has always been prepared to rule. So her head's not so much in the clouds.

And she was there when we got our new mission! It's nice to know that Tera still has confidence in us. And it's a big deal. Changing the geopolitical climate, and our whole way of life, kind of stuff.

There's a new power in the world, in the form of gems of power. We don't know exactly what these things do, but it's pretty clear that they are powerful enough to upset the global balance of power that's kept the world stable for centuries. There is actually some sort of power struggle going on amongst the belar, amazingly enough. And we're right in the middle of it.

Which is terrifying, now that I think about it. But we're going to be Cressa's agents in this. Though we seem curiously unequipped for secret agents of a nation.

I wonder if Tera didn't tell us everything?

Oh well, not much I can do about it now. I wish we had a better way of gleaning information from across the continent. Sweeping changes like this really need a good intelligence network.

Something to think about.
