With successes like these, who needs failures?

Our friend, the Cauldron, and his fine friends found us again. We now know how: he dominated Rillen and, quite cleverly I might add, tracked our every move. Someday I shall quite possibly have to kill Rillen for that betrayal, but not yet, not now.

Whatever powers our former friend, the Cauldron -- or should I say our friend the former Cauldron? -- had, they were quite impressive. He and his friends worked a combinatory magic that exceeded in power every spell known to wizard-kind. They created an area of roughly some ten thousand square feet, the whole of which was affected by a permanent Mordenkainen's Disjunction as well as effectively acting as an immense Forcecage. We never did discover the duration of the spell, but our host, if you can call him that, implied that it would last far longer than we would have had we stayed within it.

Of course, he didn't count on Covalence.

We, of course, did not count on the rod he was enchanting having enough raw power to disintegrate everything in a 200 mile radius. Why would we, after all? That quantity of energy is, needless to say, god-like. We solved the problem of the unstable rob by disposing of it in Vernon's bag of holding. The astral rift that ensued destroyed the Cauldron, Vaugner's double, the bag (of course) and, not inconsequentially, the vast majority of Kestrel's belongings, which the vile piss-pot had taken earlier. 100,000 pieces of gold vaporized in an instant, though I suppose it could have been worse since we were nearly vaporized as well.

So, anyone up for retiring yet?
