We won! I for one am pretty surprised. Things were definitely looking up after we got the rods, which massively increased the damage that we did to the obelisk in the test of power, and even helped a tad in the test of teamwork and speed.

The latter was actually surprisingly easy. We had one or two tense moments, but most of the time was spent waiting around for the targets to show up, and most of the time multiple people had coverage of them so there was little to no chance that they'd get away. I think maybe what we should take from this is that we are very dangerous and powerful as a group if we have enough buffs on, and maybe enough time to plan. The planning for this one was pretty minimal, though.

One thing I'm beginning to understand is the importancs of tactics on the battlefield. We did well in the teamwork and speed event and especially in the test of power because we worked well together (though we definitely got lucky in the test of power). In the fight where two of us died, we were more a collection of individuals rather than a closely knit team.

The other thing I notice is that it's really nice to not be hampered by heavy armor. Now that Vernon is reclaiming the plate mail he so kindly loaned me, I think perhaps I will enchant a light armor instead. I'll have nearly the same protection, but will be more mobile. Anyway, I am intrigued by Blink's quickness and centeredness, and heavy armor seems to conflict directly with the monk way.

Mostly, though, I am just going to bask in the pleasure that winning a major competition brings. We got some money, we earned some fame (a mixed blessing no doubt), what's not to be happy about?
