I don't understand what happened to our friend the cauldron. We left him to breed, at his request. But now that we have returned, we seem to be decidedly unwelcome.

We were attacked by strange creatures that seem somehow related to the cauldron -- my assumption is that they are descendants of our little friend. But they lacked his spark, for sure; actually, they were positively unfriendly.

The most troubling thing is that they kept moaning about killing all the humans, and being abandoned. I do feel bad that we took some time to get back, but the cauldron did in fact request to be left here. He had to think it was going to be a while. It did take even longer than I had planned for, admittedly, but still.

I only hope that we can find the real cauldron, the original, and talk to him. If he wants to stay here, then great, he can stay. But I would hate for us to pass him by if he were willing to be a part of the gang again. At the very least, I'd like to patch things up. It's always good to have friends in the world, and if we can end up with a friend instead of an enemy, that can only be a win.
