At least when you fail in the dream, there are no consequences. That I can tell, anyway.

We got into a situation where we needed stealth and creativity to get past. We did come up with the required creativity, but then stumbled into a fairly obvious trap that alerted the bad guys, who quickly crushed us into oblivion.

It's too bad, really. The artifact we were trying to rescue was amazing, and now we don't have access to it. Some of the others seem to think we'll have another shot at it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this was a one-time opportunity, and we failed.

Not that I think this puts the artifact completely out of our reach for all time, but I do think that it's going to be a long, difficult search to find it. And given the turmoil in the world these days, I'm not sure when we'll have the time.

I really wish there were a way to go visit the cauldron. He's been living in the area where Malif says there is an entrance to the Drow regions. So there's some chance the cauldron can point us to it.

One thing I did take from the dream is the power inherent in barbarians. They are hard to kill, and when you let go into a barbaric rage, the feeling of might and invulnerability is tremendous. I think that path may be worthy of further investigation.
