We got lucky. Or, maybe, we didn't get unlucky.

You think we'd learn, by now, that we'd be better at threat evaluation and teamwork. But we got in trouble again.

The first mistake we made was to ignore the apparently wimpy shriekers, forgetting that it could be a problem if we have to fight everything in the area at once instead of piecemeal. Oops.

Then, when Vernon gets hurt, he backs off far enough to leave us all in the dark, which was a problem. We had three people in danger of going down in this fight. We really need to stop that.

Oh, and special attacks are just so dangerous. Confusion, nausea, our party doesn't do well when half of us are incapacitated by magic. There's the main reason I'm interested in following the monk path -- study and meditation should help in a big way to save me from that sort of thing. Though I guess Blink has still had his problems. Well, he's just an unlucky guy, I guess.

But we got our gem that Vaugner was so hot after, for whatever reason, and so, on to the dream. Yet another mystery, and the answers don't seem to be getting any closer.

Things I am thinking about: provenance and abilities of the gems of power; the whys and wherefores of the dream; our meteoric rise to power; our strange connection to the founders of Sola; goepolitics and Belar factionalism; and what we can do about all of this.

That's probably enough to think about for the time being.
